Claude Moore Opportunities’ mission is to create and promote lifelong careers for all Virginians. We believe Virginia could benefit greatly if we focus on helping military medics and corpsmen successfully transition from active military service to meaningful civilian healthcare careers. With grant funding from Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, we convened thought leaders, veterans, nonprofit, educational, and philanthropic stakeholders together to address this critical topic.

Dan River Year AmeriCorps Growing Focus and Impact

The newest branch of AmeriCorps service tackles one of Virginia’s most urgent needs: youth mental health. Through a partnership with the Claude Moore Foundation, members receive specialized training from George Mason University and Rappahannock Community College, earning credentials such as Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T) and Behavioral Health Technician Assistant.
